Ava Morris' pottery is all hand made on the potter's wheel. Each piece is individually crafted, so variations in color, shape and size are understood. This makes her pottery unique and desirable. One-of-a-kind pieces are also available by custom order.

This pottery is made of a high-fired white stoneware and is safe for use in the microwave, dishwasher and oven. All glazes are lead-free. Ava use's a white clay to enhance the colors of the hand-mixed glazes. Many pieces are thrown and then altered to give more interest to their shape. Ava also hand-carves stamps to impress different images into the bottom of pieces. Handles woven and twisted from coils of clay add to the uniqueness of many of her designs.

Betsy Lorton Ceramics has grown out of my interest in having unique, artistic, yet functional pieces for my own use. Each shape and design is my own, and each is signed with my logo and "Santa Fe." I make each piece on a potter's wheel or slab roller and glaze and fire it in my studio. My background includes years of painting on canvas; I have tried to translate my art into clay and glaze. Each piece is 50% porcelain, 50% stoneware clay. All are food-safe, non-toxic and dishwasher safe. None should be placed on direct flame, but may be heated on low in a microwave or placed in a room temperature oven and allowed to heat with the oven. Each product may be ordered in any pattern shown below,or in the pattern "Desert Sunset" on the large triangle platter shown above.
