My work is about the metals, materials and meaning. Symbolism and the qualities of the metals and stones is an important aspect of my jewelry. I work in Sterling Silver with accents of 14K gold and stones. I love the play of light on metal, so I use a mix of metals contrasted to reflect light in its different tones. Often I accent with the use of stones for the added dimension of light through stone. Living in New Mexico and a love of travel, led to the use of animals and sumbols in my jewelry. I continue to be influenced by what surrounds me, balancing past learning, present circumstance, and future vision.

Sandy Hruska is a Montana native currently residing in Santa Fe, New Mexico with studios in Santa Fe and Cold Spring, New York.
Her art endeavors began in the late 60's in a Montana High School. Her style of art was at once recognized as non-traditional. Her love of hunting for junk treasures got her imagination going and she began to incorporate these found objects into paintings and collages.
In the early 70's Sandy started studying glass in the Pacific Northwest. Under the direction of some masters at Philchuck she found her passion in "hot glass". She soon became a regular at art shows and exhibitions throughout the Northwest.
In1990 she moved to Santa Fe. Sandy studied Silversmithing with a Santa Domingo Elder and began to incorporate metals with glass. The local galleries purchased her work. She opened a space at the Santa Fe Art Market and began attracting buyers from the East Coast. Wanting to be active in the community, she developed and taught children's art programs for the Boys & Girls Clubs and 4-H Clubs of Santa Fe and the Espanola Valley.
Her contemporary folk art revolves around creating humorous wearable, hangable art pieces. By incorporating fused and slumped glass, distressed metals, found objects, wood, wire and beads she lets her imagination run the gamut. Sandy's works of art can be found in galleries and stores from New York City to California.
Her philosophy still remains Return to Art....

Sarah Blaine left Houston for Santa Fe in 1998 to pursue the trade of jewelry making. She began with a six-week apprenticeship program at LewAllen & LewAllen Jewelers - one of downtown Santa Fe's most acclaimed and well shopped galleries - and has been working there since. This accomplished jeweler sells many of her own designs and is quickly gaining recognition for them. Sarah's profound and beautiful pieces, known as Wordworks, are available at LewAllen &LewAllen and now, here at this website. Her designs are not of a typical Southwestern style, but a more contemporary one, each piece expressing depth and authenticity. Sarah has definitely found her home in Santa Fe and in the art of jewelry making.
