I was a welder by profession until in 1969 when a broken leg, which created boredom, inspired my initial work with tin cans. This tin can "affair" lasted fifteen years until the itch to open a Santa Fe trading post distracted me. In 1992 two broken legs (again creating boredom) began my permanent affair with tin cans. I knew the gods must be telling me something. Tin cans are transformed into handcrafted candle holders throwing dancing patterns of light wherever they are placed. These works of art are functional and aesthetically pleasing products which are both environmentally and socially responsible.

My style of work has evolved over 30+ years and I have maintained the quality of both workmanship and materials to the highest standard. My work has been shown in Great Britain, Japan and Italy. Museum gift shops and galleries are my major outlets including the Museum of New Mexico and Rancho De Las Golondrinas in Santa Fe and Millicent Rogers Museum in Taos. Galleries include The Foundry and DJ's Jewelry, both in Ruidoso, Ray Tracey Gallery in Santa Fe and Chimayo Trading and Mercantile in Chimayo. Although I have worked mostly in silver with a variety of stones, I now create pieces using gold combined with precious stones. My basic techniques are fabrication including forging and repousse. I design one-of-a-kind ring sets for the most distinguishing tastes. I have expanded my work to include pieces such as filigree rosaries, reliquaries, monstrances, suboriums, chalices and complete altar sets. I have been commissioned to design pieces for various churches in New Mexico.
